Hi,
This is my first posting on the TIG web;
perhaps it comes after a long moment of reflection of the many challenges posed by the 21st Century
with the increasing militarization, violence and intolerance, where are many questions
unanswered, or with violent answers in response.
I come from Kenya and now live in Tunisia, working with peoples of diverse cultures, religion, ideologies and background, reaffirming 21st century narrative of the challenges to sovereignty, to identity and to global citizenship;
ancient wisdom and poets remind us that
we all come from people, belonging to a community
celebrated, share memory, through stories, songs, even scattered photographs, through a language that can only be concieved from understanding what it means to be human.
I come from people and therefore align myself with people;
to open spaces, to share, to interact and to listen;
in the ultimate celebration of our existence and co-existence as human beings. It is then my hope as people, that we will give our humble contribution into making all forms of wars and violence, unthinkable.
As we remember President Arafat, and his vision, the tragedy of our times that can only be told through scattered photographs, poetry, song and dance;
the Palestinian story is our story,
we must keep the dream through our common memory.
